Mui Ne Oct 11 - 15, 2007
Michelle bought some home grown pineapple on the way to Mui Ne.
Fyl shades himself in front of our bungalow.
Our bungalow on the beach. No AC, no hot water, $11 a night. Pretty good deal.
The view from our bedroom window. You couldn't get closer to the beach.
Walking up Fairy Stream.
There's no path to see the sand formations, so you just have to take your shoes off and walk through the stream itself.
IS IT A FAIRY?!?!?
The stream has run through sand dunes for hundreds of years.
It was 36°C outside, but the water beneath our feet was a refreshing 30°C.
A (probably) natural arch in the sand.
And here's our last picture, at the end of Fairy Stream.
Oh wait one more picture.
We hired a jeep and a driver for the day to see the sand dunes. Fyl is clearly ready for action.
A Vietnamese fishing village. Mui Ne is famous for it's fish sauce, which you can smell for miles.
A man and his cows.
A Vietnamese boy walk along the sand dunes.
There's a lot to think about on these hot, dusty dunes.
Wilted roses in the desert.
We went sand jumping on the dunes.
The Red Canyon, near the sand dunes.
We climbed to the top of the canyon. Not pictured: 8 kids who followed us up as guides trying to get money.
For a reasonable fee, we went sand sledding down the dunes.
Michelle made a portrait of Fyl in the sand. WHICH ONE IS THE REAL FYL???
Sunset from our bungalow.
