Hi everyone!
Has it been over a year since I posted on fylandmichelle.com? The short answer is yes. I'll make it up to you with a really short post today.
We went to Las Vegas last month! Here are some pictures!
We are going to Hawaii tomorrow and staying there for a full week! We will post pictures when we get back!
Phew, well this was a lot of typing for me, so I had better take a break. Thanks for visiting fylandmichelle™.com!
I ate a banana sandwich today, and then listened to Agadoo do do and Pia pia piano. It made me miss home and realise I'm going to have to force feed our kids with my old Scottish traditions. Maybe make them wear Benzini.
Also, The smell of cooked peppers and scones reminds me of Grandad and banana sandwiches and tinned macaroni reminds me of Nana.
Were off to Denver this weekend to see Fyl's Auntie Meg and Uncle Gene, and Josh! It's Labour Day weekend, I dont really know what that means apart from that I get a day off work! Hehe!
I'm off to play Mass Effect on the 360 with Fyl now, byes!
Heya people!
We have had a wild few months! Off to San Francisco, camping, I went on business to Chicago, our wedding, Rome for our honeymoon, Jenny’s wedding, and Laura’s wedding!! So much fun, so fun I have not had the heart to fully unpack :(
We really missed our dumb cats, but our very sweet landlord looked after them while we were in Scotland, and maybe even fell in love with them a little bit! Yay!
And in other news I went skinny dipping, oh, AND I PASSED MY DRIVERS TEST! Now it’s my turn to drive Fyl around and pick him up from work and be at his bec and call!!! I love driving, it's a shame it came 12 years too late, I am reliving what should have been my youth, racing around town in my bubble car, blasting songs and singing my lungs off!!!
It’s nice to be back, we have lots of fun things planned for the rest of the summer, so we will try to be better at keeping the web page updated! But most important me and Fyl will keep being in love and that’s what everyone wants right!??? Hehe! Gimmie a bucket!!!
I gotta go, it’s like 100 degrees and we are meting away, so I will let the pictures do the talking! Click below for all the fun updates!

Hi everyone!!!
How are tricks?
I know it has been yonks since we last wrote an update, but in a world of Bebo’s and Facebooks, sometimes ole’ Fylandmichelle.com gets left out!
We have had a busy few months with having John and Mary over from England for 3 weeks, and then my Sister over for 10 days just after! We went to Vancouver twice during this time, and I fell in LOVE with it! I am so glad we are only a few hours away from the Canadian border! See our pictures for all of our adventures.
Gilly Bean and me zipping down a mountain in Vancouver, WAAAHOOOO!
I have also started Bhangra Indian dancing recently with my friend Laura, and it’s fun, but blimin hard work. Each class I have been hardly able to walk the next day, haha, fit as a Fifer!
So since I just passed my American driving written test, Fyl has been letting me drive all over town, at speeds of around 37 MPH, its BRILLIANT! I have a feeling I’m going to be a dead good driver, as long as Fyl does all the hard stuff and I keep getting to go nice and slow, I will be a pro! WATCH OUT AMERICA!!! Funny though as I will have to learn how to drive in the UK when we go back, as I have never driven over there before, WEIRD!
We have been so busy trying to plan the wedding lately, but its funny cause when it comes down to it, there is nothing we can do as we are just too far away! Lucky all our lovely family and friends back home are trying to help, and as long as it’s a big ole knees up and everyone’s in kilts, I don’t mind how it turns out!!
I wanted to say a belated Happy Birthday to Trason and Tim who are out in the Middle East in an US army camp somewhere (different ones)….hope your safe and doing okay, Fyl say’s HI!
And here is a big Happy Birthday to Ryan, Daniel, and Mark who birthdays are this week, and we are all going to stay in a big lodge with a huge indoor water park this weekend to celebrate!!! WAAHHHHOOOO!
Okay, enough, I will let the pictures do the talking... HERE!

WOW, WE JUST SURVIVED A 4.6 EARTHQUAKE AT 5.30AM THIS MORNING!!!
Hehe, actually, I barely woke up and Fyl just wondered what the rumbling was all about, BUT WE ARE ALIVE, DONT WORRY!
Hey did y'all know I got my GREEN CARD, its official, I'm a dirty American with the BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!! Sorry Gordon Brown, but I'm sure you wish Barak was your pal!
John our friend from Reading England is coming over next week, and then my Sista Twista is coming the first week in March!! Oh and it's Groundhogs day on Monday....MORE LIKE MY BIRTHDAY RIGHT!?????
I think I'm a bit hyper today!
P.S Are earthquakes considered weather?
MERRY YULE TIME AND A HAPPY HOGMANY!!!!!
Hope y’all had a lovely time! Fyl and me had a great ole time!!
We drove back on the 23rd with Ryan from Seattle to Montana, stopping halfway overnight in Spokane! We all stayed in a lovely wee hotel, and as we checked in we saw a laminated sign reading ‘PHIL JOHNSON – GUEST OF THE DAY’ so we got a free upgrade to a suite, it was BRILLIANT! We got to Montana in one piece on Christmas eve with Fyls careful driving through the snow!
See Christmas pictures HERE.
We were so spoiled on Christmas day!!! So many amazing presents, and I even got to open the ones my mum sent me on webcam with the whole family in Scotland!!!! Yay! Flamin technological dream!! I was really missing home as this is my first Christmas away, but luckily Fyls family really treats me like a Johnson member!!! A CARSON-JOHNSON member!!!!
For 3 days we stayed in a cabin in a town called Jackson. It had a natural hot spring outside we would swim in with snow all around us after a hard day sledding or snowboarding!!!! That’s right, SNOWBOARDING, I WAS LIKE TONY HAWKES WITHOUT WHEELS!!! Snowboarding is soooo much fun!!! Fyls Mum bought me a lesson though, as I couldn’t even stand up at first, haha!
I had such a wonderful time making snowmen and eating cranberry jelly, and seeing all Fyls family and old friends. But I missed my family and friends back home too, I DIDN’T FORGET YOU!!!!
I gotta go, Fyl and I are planning our Scottish wedding for the 21st June this summer, and we got lots to do!!!!!!

Hey peeps!!
I have good news!!! I had my Green Card interview and it went really well, so I should get my card in around 6 weeks! We met with our lawyer, and brought tons of evidence of our living together and being married and all that, but it was not really called for! Looks like we got a good interviewer or something as we heard it could be quite the interrogation!! Once I get the card, I am all kosher, and can come and go to different countries and even come home to Scotland to visit! We are so happy it is all over and done with!
We have been dead busy over the past few months but don’t think we ever forgot you WEBSITE, WE LOVE YOU WEBSITE! AND ALL YOUR READERS TOOOO! AND HERE ARE SOME PICTURES!
We went to the San Juan Islands recently which are off the coast of Washington and stayed in a lovely wee village called Friday Harbor with Scotty Deeeeee and Laura. I dragged them there to see a Scottish band called the Battlefield Band who came all the way fae Glasgae. It was a right knees up! At the end Laura and I got up and made the whole place start dancing, YAAAY! I met the bagpiper afterwards in a wee tavern where I told him he made me cry with the soond of his pipes, haha! No really though, I do miss the sound of them wafting down Princes Street or the Royal Mile...
Oh, you will also see some pictures of Halloween too in our updated pictures, Fyl was gold! He dressed as a King on vacation, haha, with a bum bag/fanny pack and all!
I enjoyed my first Thanksgiving in America, and I was mostly thankful for now being introduced to 2 brilliant meals a year instead of a measly 1!! Fyls Mom n Dad made me a yummy fake turkey roast, with all the trimmings and cranberry jelly! Sounds mingin I know, but it’s pretty tasty stuff! Oh, and I was introduced to the glory that is BLACK FRIDAY!!!! This is the day of the year after Thanksgiving where people camp outside of Walmart and such to get the biggest deals of the year! Fyl and I scooped up a Calvin Klein duvet, Martha Stewart sheets, and Ralph Loren pillows from Macys for a sweet $160 instead of $400. I have never slept in such a comfy bed, it is the bed of my dreams!
Well, it’s almost Christmas, and we have just finished all of our shopping and most of the wrapping, EEEEEK! Work is crazy busy and there is LOTS to be done, but today we woke up and we were completely snowed in!! Our wee Honda Fit couldn’t even make it out the drive, so we had to stick our jammies back on and stay huddled up watching Christmas movies looking at the snow out the window! I hope it clears for tomorrow, and for next week, as I have no idea how we will be able to drive to Montana next Tuesday if it doesn’t!
See ya all soon I hope!
M~
P.S How dare I even put this in a P.S, but OBAMA WON! Now you lot canny slag off America anymore cause we are ACE!
Hi everyone!
Well, I have BIG news!!!! I got my work permit 2 weeks ago, and guess what??? I have a job!!! It's for a company called Medtronic, and I will be a production planner (kinda like what I was doing in London!) It's really great pay, and good holidays, and they give me a yearly budget to go to uni and study logistics! And the part I'm looking forward to is using the onsite gym and slimming down for Christmas so I can fill up on chocolate and not have to worry about it, yay!
I am loving the month of October! Not only are things going pretty well on the job front, but it's almost Halloween!
It's so much different than in the UK, every shop is transformed into a spooky graveyard full of sweeties and decorations, and pumpkins line the front of the supermarkets piled on top of each other hoping they are perfect enough to be picked for carving! The weather has turned slightly bitter but the sun still shines, it's amazing!
I have been making decorations for our house, it looks really cute, and last night Fyl and I went out and bought a pumpkin lantern and a HAPPY HALLOWEEN garland!
Oh, the landlord also told us he was going to wave the $400 cat fee as we were good tenants!!!! OH OH, so we adopted 2 cats from the shelter I have been volunteering at ‘Meow’. They are adorable, Fyl saw them and loved the colour, and they were soooo friendly, licking us and snuggling in, we had to get them! As they were sisters and been together from birth (they are 2 now) we adopted them together so they didn’t get separated! They are hilarious and cute and sweet and we LOVE them!

They don’t mind being picked up, they jump up on to their hind legs to kiss you on the nose, and fight over cuddles. THEY ARE THE BEST! We called them Riga (the black tortie) and Yantai (the dilute blue tortie) after the place where me and Fyl met in China and the capital of Latvia where we began our travels last year!
It's my dream month!!!
Now I just have to get started on my Halloween costume!

Hey everyone! I know it’s unusual to see ME posting in this space, but the page title IS fylandmichelle.com and I feel like I’m not fulfilling the quantity of posts that our URL implies.
Well the big news for today is that MICHELLE GOT HER WORK PERMIT! Like the name says, this means that she’s now able to work in America! We’re both really excited, and Michelle is polishing off her old resume (CV) and is going to start sending it off this week. After 9 months of being in America things are starting to come together for us! The work permit isn’t a green card, which will give her a more permanent status in America, but it’s a big step and hopefully the green card is only a few months away.
In other news, I found the Barak Obama episode of the late show with David Letterman online, and I took a screen shot where you can see me in the audience. That’s right I’m FAMOUS.
Not much else to report. Two weekends ago we went to the famous Snoqualmie Falls near Seattle. We’ll have more pictures up later, but I know some of you love your Fyl and Michelle pictures so I’ll throw one up for now.
Alright that’s about as much as I ever write, so bye for now!
